The first quarter and beyond, we have been working hard on our investigation of Line in the primary, intermediate and upper grades.
In the Kindergarten and 1st grades, they have been drawing collaborative line compositions as a class and are just moving on to writing their names with an emphasis on the shapes that lines form.
In second through fifth grades, the students have explored the artwork of Joan Miro, Jock Macdonald, M.C.Escher, and Alexander Calder in an attempt to identify lines and their purposes in creating Art.
For the upper grades, we are fast approaching a visit from an IB team and as such, we are diligently creating works of art that not only touch on Line but on all of the Elements of Art and the Principles of design.
